POSITION SUMMARY Under supervision and direction from Painter II or Lead: Prep, sandblast, and apply protective and/or decorative paint finishes to prepared surfaces on a variety of products to meet specifications. Formulate, test, mix and apply liquid coatings to meet specifications.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS • Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality • Preparation of surfaces for painting: includes sanding, cleaning off contaminants, and taping areas not to be painted. • Reads and understands paint specifications and product data sheets for a variety of paint manufacturers. • Selects and properly mixes paint for project according to specifications. • Keeps work area, paint equipment, and tools clean, orderly and in good working condition. • Contributes to division results and performance • Take care of internal and external customer needs and expectations
Required: High School Diploma or GED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required: • 6 months of experience • Must be familiar with conventional and painting techniques specific to manufacturing needs; • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, charts and schematics. • Must be dependable and work effectively under pressure, often independently; • Must be able to pass a yearly pulmonary function test. Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing “job shop” environment

Pay: $18.00 - $23.30 per hour
