Position Overview:
The Sales Manager serves directly under the Director of Sales to successfully develop and deliver creative, cost-effective solutions for our clients and do so while maintaining a superior level of service.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Generate new business leads through sales calls, industry functions & hotel events

Retain an on-going relationship with hotel representatives and past clients

Accountable for responding to phone calls, emails and new leads within 24 hours

Work with Creative Services and Operations teams on client relationships and product development

Sustain positive relationships, building rapport with suppliers, hoteliers and staff

Carefully work with the Creative Team to build basic and customized proposals as well as proposal revisions and follow-up

Understand event & destination management industry and have ability to sell DMC & event services
-
Sell variety of tours, teambuilding, décor / events and general session activities
-
Proactive thinking and planning
-
Act as a liaison between DBD Departments such as; Creative, Sales, Floral, Studio, Warehouse & Graphics

Manage the sales calendar, file assignment and daily flow

Accountable for a minimum sales goal with bonuses given for exceeding goal

Provide excellent customer service

Prepare proposals & contracts for clients

Lead bi-monthly sales meetings and attend weekly event order meetings

Attend site inspections of new venues and new activities

Attend networking functions
-
Plan & host client lunches, happy hours and presentations

Generate and retain larger scale high profile programs and events

Effectively communicate information through written correspondence and oral communication with the client, hotel / venue contacts and internally

Attend pre-convention meetings for major programs with DBD Operations Manager and site inspections as needed

Responsible for all other aspects of proposals set forth by the Destinations by Design sales service standards

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the hotel, event, DMC and / or hospitality industry

Flexible hours including nights, holidays & weekends required

Excellent computer skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office products

Position Status and Shift:
- Must be able to work full-time Monday through Friday in office with occasional weekend and/or evening shifts as needed

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time

Must be able to comfortably use a computer for a significant portion of each day

Ability to lift, push or pull up to 25-50 lbs occasionally or additional weight with assistance
