Plumbing/HVAC Dispatcher Job Description
The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator and remain calm and composed with both customers and technicians. The dispatcher obtains information about customers' services, transmits that information to the technicians, and schedules the assignment. This position requires multi- tasking and taking appropriate action with little direct supervision. The dispatcher also promotes the company and its services when the opportunity arises. The goal is to enable all parties to communicate well by ensuring the accurate and timely transmission of information.
Job Duties
- Receive incoming calls and record all related information
- Provide technicians with the required information for the assignment
- Manage scheduling board for all field staff
- Prioritize calls according to customer requests, urgency, and importance
- Monitor the route and status of technicians to coordinate, adjust, and prioritize the schedule
- Order parts if required for the completion of calls
- Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions
- Collaborate and communicate with others to accommodate the needs of customers
- Cultivate strong relationships with staff and customer
- Enter data in the computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities, and other information
- Other duties as required or requested

- Ability to multi-task, which includes making and coordinating schedule changes
- Ability to solve problems and to prioritize the most critical situations quickly
- Attention to detail to ensure that our interactions with customers are smooth and efficient

- Experience in the Plumbing industry
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a dispatcher with knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and boiler systems
- Skilled in MS Office
- Accurate typing, good spelling, experience in data entry
- Mechanical knowledge - sufficient to converse with customers and technicians
- Proficient in English (oral and written)
- Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Active listener with excellent communication skills
- Sound judgment and critical thinking
- Ability to pass a mandatory drug test and background check
