What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fuel Cell System Development & Testing (L6) position at Detroit Diesel Corporation?
AufgabenDaimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is the market leader and thrives as the voice of the trucking industry. We are compelled to persistently push the envelope as we sharpen our focus on alternate propulsion technologies and develop vehicles that continue to lead the market. DTNA has several pre-development teams which bring our visions to reality. These teams exude creativity, energy, innovation, and passion. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and want to be at the forefront of future transportation technologies, you are meant for this team. You will push the technical capability of commercial vehicles to the next level, helping transform concepts into real world operational vehicles. This is your chance to join us as we define the next chapter of the trucking industry. We can’t wait to hear from you!
In this position, you will be part of the Powertrain Systems Engineering department as an engineer for the Applications, CX, and Technology group. Several exciting propulsion technologies are emerging and the highly collaborative teams within DTNA will drive future success by partnering within our engineering department, customers and network to prepare new propulsion systems for their operations.
The essential function of this position is to develop a fuel cell powertrain for the heavy duty North American truck market. This person will be responsible for supporting the technical development and testing of the hydrogen based fuel cell system that is under consideration for powering future commercial vehicles.
The engineer will work with key Daimler fuel cell engineers locally, regionally, and globally to establish system and testing goals for the fuel cell powertrain. The engineer will support installation of a complete or partial fuel cell powertrain in lab or functional vehicles. The engineer will create and execute test plans for the fuel cell powertrain products to deliver powertrain specifications, SoC strategies, controls logic, and performance data for vehicle installation planning and simulation support. Testing, including simulation, of complete vehicles as well as individual fuel cells, batteries, and eAxles will be a prime focus.
