POSITION TITLE:
Quality Assurance Specialist

FUNCTION:
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible to develop and implement quality assurance policies,
conduct tests, inspections, identify production and, or product issues while presenting solutions. A
successful quality assurance specialist should be thorough and able to help the company maintain the
highest quality standards. The Quality Assurance Associate will report directly to the Quality Assurance
Supervisor

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Main responsibility to guaranteeing the quality of our products, typical day-to-day tasks involve careful inspections
  • and enforcement of the quality standards.
  • Direct writing and review for SOPs, WI’s & creating forms to ensure efficiency and clarity.
  • Perform Internal IMS (integrated management system) audits.
  • Update Audit schedule accordingly.
  • Training other quality assurance members on all inspection processes
  • Quarterly calibration, and record keeping, scheduling services.
  • Training the production team on quality control measures to promote product excellence.
  • Inspecting output samples while using inhouse testing methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions and examining FFF (fit, form, and function).
  • Inspecting the production lines adherence to standard procedures.
  • Documenting inspection results by completing reports, summarizing discrepancies and process waste by
  • inputting data into applicable database.
  • Monitor NCR completion and corrections effectiveness.
  • Participate ibn corrective action root cause analysis exercise utilizing analytical tools.
  • Participate in self development activities provided by the company (internal trainings, meetings, etc.)
  • Quarterly calibration of equipment upkeep, which includes detailed documentation on calibrations, calling in for services as needed, and maintaining calibration records.
  • Raw material inspection, sampling and approval releasing.
  • Raw material testing, as required.
  • Componentry sampling and approval releasing.
  • Finished goods approval releasing.
  • Other tasks may be assigned by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP software.
  • Collaborative teamwork.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent data collection and analytical skills.
  • Experience adhering to policies and procedures that provide checks and balances within production processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail and time management.
  • Thoroughly document and keep tract of work in a neat and organized matter.
  • Flexibility to provide support to production as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment commensurate with workload.
  • Computer proficiency to include Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of inspection and quality assurance tools e.g. (parts drawings and schematics,
  • process flow charts, micrometers, calipers, and other inspection)
  • Familiarity with lean methodologies e.g. (6’s, 8 wastes, non-value added, etc.)
  • ERP software experience is a plus.
  • Certificate in quality assurance is a plus (ASQ)? Working knowledge of tools (explain)? methods, and concepts of quality assurance.
  • ASQ CQA or similar certifications is a plus.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have supervisory oversight of employees

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates Degree and 1 year of experience in quality assurance/document control preferred, or minimum of two years in quality assurance in an ISO-9001 environment experience
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment preferred

CERTIFICATES:

  • ASQ CQA or similar certifications is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Communication proficiency: ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels as needed both

verbal and in writing.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Complex critical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with complex mathematical concepts.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Effective and efficient organizational skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, lift, reaching,
pulling. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and is a fast-paced working
environment.
