Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional with experience in most or all phases of home/apartment maintenance and repair to become part of our team. This position requires the ability to perform quality painting, drywall repairs, minor electrical, minor plumbing, HVAC, etc. to maintain and turn apartments. This is a hands on position and requires the ability to work overtime, and/or on weekends at times as needed to meet deadlines, as well as the availability for rotations with other maintenance personnel to handle emergencies. Must have the ability to work with and communicate effectively with co-workers, residents, and other tradespeople in a friendly professional manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs all tasks associated with unit and property upgrades including, but not limited to minor demolitions, floor preparation, installation of cabinets and countertops, trim, installation of doors, drywall, paint, electrical and plumbing.
  • Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation, etc.)
  • Complete upgrades within a timely manner and/or meets deadlines assigned by supervisor.
  • Delivers accurate records of materials needed and progress of the upgrade.
  • Inspect facilities to determine problems and necessary maintenance
  • Consult with Property Manager on major repairs, replacements, and contracts.
  • Performs minor and routine maintenance on tools and equipment on a regular basis, or as directed.
  • Install new appliances, as necessary
  • Assist Property Manager as needed and in emergency situations
  • Must perform tasks associated with snow removal such as shoveling, plowing, salt spreading, etc
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, and health and safety regulations

Must have the knowledge and ability to perform the following duties:

  • HVAC repair
  • Plumbing repairs
  • Repair/replace locks, smoke alarms
  • Replace screens/broken windows
  • Appliance repairs
  • Electrical repairs
  • Carpentry
  • Drywall repair
  • Construction
  • Unit remodeling/upgrade
  • Painting (interior and exterior)
  • Assist with keeping grounds neat and free of litter. Lawn care and landscaping as necessary
  • Performs work area clean up and safety related duties
  • Provides Manger with a list of needed inventory of spare parts and maintenance materials

  • Has exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has three years of related residential renovation, rehab, or maintenance experience
  • Has A/C, EPA, or HVAC certification (a plus)
  • Has High School diploma or equivalent

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:

  • Maintenance: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Preferred)
