Job Description

Job purpose

Reporting to the B2B Programme Manager and B2B Engineering Lead, this role will be responsible to plan, manage, and report on test plans and execution across Several departments that Include Engineering, Architecture, Automation, OSS, Operations, Core Build, Deployment and Product.

Infrastructure and services at the required level of quality will be requested from all parties.

This role may require assisting the transition of new infrastructure and services into production, warranty responsibility and assisting BAU issue management to resolution.

The E2E Test Manager will manage and co-ordinate technical teams across multiple disciplines, roles, departments and sites; will ensure the delivery of technical changes to agreed time, cost and quality. 

This role implements a Validation approach to deliver quality solutions across the named departments above and any major Programmes and provide testing direction & uniformity across projects including methodology, processes, standards, documentation, analysis and training.

Key Accountabilities

  • Consistent application of the Validation Test processes, methodologies, processes, change control, standards,governance, documentation etc to maintain the quality and uniformity of projects and meet the Test workstream responsibilities; from requirements analysis, strategy/scope definition, planning, scheduling, execution and coordination to delivery
  • Effective test team and resource management and reporting to deliver to time, cost and quality to meet project and work-stream deliverables
  • Vendor management for technical integration.
  • Release management for all elements of the test environments
  • Ownership and accountability for all things test related.
  • Defect and issue management with internal and external suppliers/vendors to agreed resolution.
  • Develop, define and analyse complex plans (multi system/environment/location), schedules and reports for effective requirements traceability management
  • Prepare and manage all configuration at a HW and SW level
  • Ensure Licence and data security and performance requirements are adhered to.
  • Support Project delivery processes including estimates, cost planning, time and project plans (high and low level) for the Validation testing effort
  • Building and management of the Validation testing workstream, identifying key roles and selecting the right mix of technical resources to deliver an integrated solution. This workstream will be cross functional across Engineering, Architecture,Automation, OSS, Operations, Core Build, Deployment and Product as appropriate.
  • Maintain good communication across projects, work streams and departments, effectively and succinctly

 

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience

Preferred education/ qualifications:

• Educated to Bachelor degree level or equivalent; or able to demonstrate a similar level of ability from industrial

experience in a complex technical environment. Experience in a Telecommunications Operator preferred.

Specific Knowledge & Experience:

• Minimum 5-7 years previous Test Management experience gained within a large commercial environment

• A demonstrable knowledge of relevant technologies; including, Ethernet Services, EPON, IP

• Proven track record of managing virtual teams effectively and with clarity, including managing communication,negotiation and conflict resolution skills

• Excellent experience of technical project management techniques including planning, resource allocation, prioritisation and escalation, both waterfall and Agile/SAFe.

• Timeliness in all actions with quality consciousness towards services received and provided

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels, both written and oral, fluent in spoken and written English Specific Skills & Abilities:

• Proven leadership experience with a project management approach to work, setting clear milestones and success criteria for development work, both waterfall and agile.

• Excellent understanding of Validation methodologies and approaches

• Ability to produce professional technical reports to all levels.

• Ability to influence and manage Internal, External, Vendor and Supplier relationships and represent the company in an appropriate manner.

• Strong problem solving, prioritisation and delivery skills

• Approach should be lively and positive encouraging others to input ideas whilst maintaining a professional attitude.

• Confident, highly self-motivated, self-managing, hardworking and reliable whilst practically focused.

• Good Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Project and PowerPoint with strong presentation report writing skills; with ability to prepare and present formal presentations to Senior Management on technical solutions or issues.

• Can effectively challenge the accepted way of doing things in the interests of the company.
