Dewberry is currently seeking an Assistant Business Unit Manager for its Rancho Cordova, CA office.
The Assistant Business Unit Manager will be primarily responsible for assisting the Business Unit Manager (BUM) in the strategic development and growth and overall operational performance of Dewberry’s Northern CA business unit.
The successful candidate will be a Professional Engineer with a diverse background and evidence of strong advancement in management and financial responsibilities. The candidate will have clearly demonstrated expertise and success in managing and motivating multiple discipline teams, developing and executing client and business development strategies that drive revenue and profit margin growth, and partnering with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities
- Assisting with the operational responsibility of the Business Unit to include operation analysis, financial management, strategic planning, and quality improvement of the department.
- Co-create and share a common vision with Dewberry corporate and regional leadership for the region that invigorates client relationships and partnerships and motivates internal staff to identify new opportunities and market potential.
- Ensure all operational activities conform to and integrate with organizations requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal compliance, and general policies and procedures.
- Growing diverse engineering services through leadership and coordination of business development efforts among all Dewberry Service Lines, Market Segment Leaders, Client Managers, technical and operational staff.

- Motivate/inspire employees to support the company vision/goals.

Required Skills & Required Experience
- CA PE License required. B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
- 15 years of experience
- A minimum of 10 years project management and technical staff supervision experience.
- Knowledge of current CA and federal policies
- Excellent Professional/Executive Skills.
- Expert communicator, motivator, and influencer.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership qualities and ability to coach and mentor staff
- Strong client management and business development skills are required
- Strategic development and problem-solving skills plus goal driven energized by challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong trusting relationships (internal to an organization and external with clients and teaming partners) for success.
- Powerful implementation and execution skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
The projected range for this position is $161,000-$245,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
