Environmental Science Intern

Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking qualified applicants for the role of Environmental Science Intern for our Rancho Cordova, CA office for Summer 2024. This position will assist with environmental impact studies including CEQA and NEPA and regulatory technical service areas for transportation and water infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Duties may include:

• Assisting with research in support of NEPA and CEQA document preparation
• Preparing draft memorandums and reports in support of NEPA and CEQA documents
• Assisting with planning and facilitating meetings, workshops, and open houses
• Creating maps, utilizing GIS, in support of NEPA and CEQA documents
• Researching local, county, state and federal ordinances and regulations
• Assisting in preparing, planning and analyzing/reviewing technical studies, permit applications, CEQA/NEPA documents, and similar reports/document
• Currently pursuing a BS or BA in Urban Planning, Environmental Studies or a related field
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Experience in Word, Excel and GIS

*The hourly range for this position is $16.20-$26.69.
