Summary:
Develops, interprets and implements financial concepts for financial planning and control. Performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements and operating forecasts. Performs review of depreciation, investment opportunities business partner to operations and manufacturing teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This role will be primarily responsible for developing a business partnership with and providing finance support to the San Diego Manufacturing Operations
Creates monthly financial packages which would include actual vs budget/forecast variance analysis, trends, headcount, and insightful explanations on variances
Requires a deep understanding of the function spend involving regular communication with the business owners, offering support/solutions/ideas to help scale the function in a fiscally responsible manner
Will support with cost accounting activities including absorption, scrap, production yields, and other production variances
Supports tracking and validation for cost savings initiatives with Manufacturing Operations
Ability to learn how to work within Hyperion/SmartView, Apex Reporting, Tableau, Oracle FCCS (forms, inputs, queries), Oracle EBS
Review, track and follow-up on invoicing throughout the month as well as own month-end accrual process
Flexibility to take on additional business support responsibilities and adhoc analytical requests as needed
Able to work with large data sets from multiple systems and make sound business judgment when necessary
Understanding of general accounting principles (accruals, prepaids)
Good communication skills and comfortable working with upper levels of management
Required Qualifications:
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications especially in Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, filters)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industries
Experience working as a Finance Business Partner
Experience working within large scale ERP systems Hyperion Financial Management
Experience working with Accounts Payable or Invoicing Processes
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and a preferred 2-5 years of related experience
