Title: Laboratory Assistant

Work Location: Chesterfield, MO

Duration: 3 month Contract


DEPARTMENT/TEAM DESCRIPTION-
This laboratory is responsible for high throughput Seed Quality Testing to support the Product Supply Organization within a large agricultural company.
POSITION SUMMARY- Performs laboratory tasks under the direction of a FTE such as dropping, crushing, planting, harvesting, counting, grinding, reagent preparation, and other routine laboratory tasks. Shift Hours: 1st 6:30am-3:00pm (hours subject to change).
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in operating equipment for data generation.
• Assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials, ordering and stocking.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform tasks within the laboratory.
• Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Under the guidance of a FTE, conduct routine and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  
  REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES
  Education Requirement(s):
• Minimum of an associate degree in a scientific field
  
  Skill & Competency Requirements: (list 3 to 5 non-negotiable items such as years of experience, industry of preference, specific knowledge items, professional certifications, skills, abilities, etc.)
• Associate degree in a scientific field.
• The ability to lift 40-50 lbs.
• The Ability to stand while working for prolonged periods of time (4-6 hours)
• The ability to conduct repetitive tasks with hands, wrists, and arms
  
  Preferences: (list nice-to-haves such a specific knowledge items, certifications, skills, abilities, etc.)
• We prefer the candidates to have experience in a fast-paced and/or team-based environments.
