Role Systems Engineer

Mission Statement
The System Engineer role consists of configuring and integrating video management and access control systems into
new or existing customer physical and network environments. The Engineer provides subject matter expertise in
compute and storage, route and switch, wired and wireless infrastructure and application expertise.

Responsibilities
1. Perform and oversee the pre-installation staging of all technology making up a project including: Servers,
Storage, Cameras, Access Panels, Switches, Routers and similar devices.
2. Install Operating System(s), Firmware Updates, Application installs.
3. Configure RAID Arrays.
4. Configure Video Management and Access Control applications to customer specifications.
5. Perform “racking and stacking” installation of servers, switches, routers into new or existing communication
cabinets and/or racks.

Required Experience, Skills, Abilities and Credentials
1. Three or more years installing/supporting the Genetec suite of VMS/AC/LPR products.
2. Certifications:
a. Cisco CCNA: Cisco Certified Network Associate
b. Genetec SC-ETC-001: Enterprise Technical Certification
c. Genetec SC-OTC-002: Omnicast Advanced Configuration and Troubleshooting
d. Genetec SC-OTC-002: Security Center Advanced Troubleshooting
e. Genetec SC-AFC-001: AutoVu Fixed Technical Certification
f. Genetec SC-AMP-001: AutoVu Mobile/Parking Technical Certification
Desired Experience, Skills, Abilities and Credentials
3. Three or more years’ experience designing and supporting switching, routing and firewall configurations
including subnet calculations, multicast troubleshooting and NAT routing.
4. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues involving Application, Operating System, and
Networking dependencies.
5. Excellent communication skills
6. Ability work both collaboratively and unsupervised
7. Ability to meet deadlines which may include evening or weekend work when required by the business.
8. Ability to cover “On-Call” shifts on a rotating schedule.
9. Attention to Detail - Job requires being careful about detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks.
