Job Description
- Manage all aspects of a diverse team of project staff including project managers, project coordinators and project admin.
- Establish performance standards for projects, project managers and project coordinators.
- Ensure needed supplies and equipment are purchased within budget, scope and time.
- Review work product of teams for compliance with organizational objectives and goals.
- Ensure goals are met in customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team performance.
- Implement and manage change and intervention to ensure project goals are achieved, including handling emergencies, disruptions and unanticipated events.
- Regularly report work progress, status, goals, updates and issues to stakeholders and governing bodies.
- Subcontractor negotiations and communication with owners, engineers, and sub-trades.
- Maintain relationships with sub-trades and clients.
- Stay current on organization news, regulations, products, services and programs.
- Review policies, processes and project reporting with respect to continuous improvement and standardization.
- Implement use of standard project management key performance indicators such as SPI, CPI, and Earned Value
- Analyze program risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or preferably Master’s degree in project management, construction management, architecture, engineering technology or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience;
- A minimum of 10 years’ project management experience in design, construction and installations on Single and Multi-family Residential, Commercial and industrial;
- Proven experience managing medium to large projects;
- Experience working with various levels of government;
- Contract law knowledge and contract management experience;
- Computer proficiency – Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Scheduling Software: MS Project and/or Primavera;
- PMP certification will be considered an asset;
