Job Summary:
The Processing, Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center within the Systems Engineering Directorate consists of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC), Signal Processing (SP) and Modeling and Simulation disciplines for Effectors. The PG&C Center is seeking a
Deputy Integrated Product Team Lead (Deputy IPTL) for System Performance within our Naval Standard Missile Systems portfolio.
This large cross-product team supports algorithm, software, firmware, and simulation development and qualification for a core Naval Standard Missile Systems (NSMS) development effort using a newly designed processing subsystem. The team is responsible for delivering qualified, tactical software including algorithm development, verified and validated simulations, performance predictions, and analysis. The Team consists of six discipline-based groups, covering the following areas: Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), Radar Signal Processing, Software, Firmware, Simulation, and Performance. The Software team is made up of tactical, Missile Built-In-Test, and Reprogramming sub-teams. The deputy IPTL is accountable to the IPTL and the Program Chief Engineer and works closely with the other IPTs (Systems, Hardware in the Loop, Hardware Design, and Production) to enhance commonality to support multiple customers, and contracts.

This position is an onsite role.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- You will co-lead a team of 50 or more individual contributors and sub-team leads.

You will manage the development of System Performance software products, firmware products, algorithms, and simulations to deliver a production-ready design within a challenging schedule.

You will provide technical and schedule direction for the System Performance IPT products.

You will prepare detailed plans (task objective, expected output, budget requirements, and schedules).

You will interact with program counterparts as an authority on System Performance IPT products.
-
You will review deliverables for soundness of technical judgment and adequacy.
-
You will produce documentation related to design and release of software artifacts.
-
You will collaborate with other IPT Leads to plan development of incremental capabilities facilitating delivery of cohesive software and simulation releases.

You will provide technical expertise for software and signal processing products across common development programs.

You will mentor and guide team members, including engagement with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

You will engage with internal program leadership to ensure product deliverables satisfy their needs.

You will engage with external customers and provide clear and concise status on schedules, finances, risks, and opportunities.

You will be expected to travel a minimum of 1 to 2 times per year.
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior GNC, Signal Processing, Modeling & Simulation, or Software development experience.

A minimum of 3 years of experience performing development activities within the Naval Standard Missile Systems portfolio.

Program Manager and/or Program Management experience, training and/or certification.

Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience, training and/or certification.

Experience managing or leading others in a technical and/or functional capacity within an engineering environment.

Experience programming in Matlab, C and/or C
-
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced deg in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics.

Program Manager Level 5 Certified.

Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities, time, and resources to consistently meet demanding schedules.

Experience with GNC, sensing, tracking, and discriminating systems for missile applications.

Experience with Radar Signal Processing algorithms for missile applications.

Experience with Agile Software development methods. (e.g., Scrum, continuous integration, etc.)

Experience as a team lead facilitating design, development and presenting technical briefings.

Results-oriented work ethic and able to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and other engineering disciplines.

Experience using scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python), including UNIX/Linux environments.

Experience with hardware/software/firmware integration.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
