Seva Hospice is a locally owned and operated company of experienced hospice providers with a desire to serve the communities we live and work in. Due to growth, we are looking for an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our dynamic team serving San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Merced counties. This is a part time weekends only position, Saturday & Sunday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Your presence and services should bring comfort to the person who faces the end of their lives and help them reach acceptance and peace of mind. A compassionate nature and excellent interpersonal skills will make you a good candidate for this position. Our goal is to help patients live their final days with dignity and comfort.

Skills
- Minimum one year nursing experience, hospice or home health preferred
- Knowledge of nursing care processes and medication guidelines/side-effects
- Committed to safety precautions and high ethical standards
- Proficient in reading/writing English, bilingual a plus (Spanish preferred)
- Sound judgement and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate nature
- Cool-tempered and patient
- Emotional/mental stability and stamina
Additional Requirements
- CA Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse license required
- Current CPR certification required
- Must have reliable transportation and auto insurance
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care, including specialized duties related to end of life care.
- Follow the plan of care and provide treatments, support and comfort according to individual patient’s needs.
- Assess and provide patient and family/caregiver education and information pertinent to diagnosis and self plan of care.
- Work collaboratively with the members of the interdisciplinary team to help meet positive patient care outcomes.
- Alleviate symptoms to the patient's desired level of comfort and help in administering medication. Evaluates patient’s response to treatments/medications.
- Participates in personal, professional growth and development. Also participates in organization's quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
- Notify a doctor for a patient’s condition when deemed necessary.
- Assist patients and their families with paperwork.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Help relatives cope with the upcoming loss and provide post-mortem support.
