Job Preview
In this physical, fast-paced role, you’ll be loading, unloading, and moving packages that need expert handling. Using your keen attention to detail, you’ll be processing postal sacks and perform final quality checks before packages leave the distribution center. We’ll have you at the helm of equipment like pallet jacks, tackling packages with your expertise before they’re sent along their delivery route.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and move packages either manually or with equipment including pallet jacks when appropriate.
- Process quality checks on postal sacks using scan technology.
- Prepping and staging bulk mail for transport.
- Assist in all areas of production, as necessary.
- Essential duties are not necessarily exhaustive and may be supplemented, or otherwise revised by DHL at its sole discretion.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School or equivalent training and/or least 6 months related warehouse experience preferred.
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions and verify zip codes.
- Work individually and as a member of a team.
- Works rapidly for extended periods and multitasks.
- Routinely communicates with other departments.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Practices.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Frequently stand, walk, squat, reach overhead, bend or kneel.
- Frequently push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. (additional weight may be required with assistance).
- This is a warehouse environment with exposure to cold, hot changing temperatures with low to medium noise levels, not damaging or loud enough to require protective equipment. Exposure to dust, dirt and changes in lighting are common.
Pay: up to $20 hourly
