Job Description
The Sr. Director of IT Product Development will leverage their knowledge of Supply Chain and Logistics IT applications and solutions, and will be a key member of the North American IT Leadership team.This role leads cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, challenging environment, and takes a hands-on role in the development of new IT Products in support of new business and Accelerated Digitalization initiatives.The leader will have the opportunity to shape the future IT Product and Solution portfolio in response to the rapidly evolving and exciting field of Supply Chain Management and Third Party Logistics.
Directs efforts of cross-functional teams in the definition, development, and implementation of IT Products for the North America region.- Directs vendor and partner interactions, including existing vendors, as well as identifying new vendors and partners to achieve successful delivery of new IT Products.
- Directs interactions of regional team with IT Product teams in other Supply Chain regions, as well as other DHL Divisions.
- Directs efforts to develop project proposals, charters, progress reports, business case analysis, and other documents and presentations for IT Product take-on initiatives and other strategic projects; and communicates status of initiatives to stakeholders and the IT Executive team.
- Directs the staff and ensures overall completion of all project components to meet appropriate financial standards, ensure customer and business partner satisfaction, timely completion, and project profitability.
- Directs the completion of budgets at the department, program, and project levels, and ensures adherence to budget and timeline on all programs and projects within the IT Product Development team.
- Provides direction, motivation, training, and decision support to team. Leverages the competencies of regional and global IT teams and functions to enhance project quality and accelerate results.
- Participates in the annual North America regional IT Strategy process.
- Liaises with global and cross-regional IT teams to ensure alignment of North America IT strategy with global IT strategy.
- Directs definition of IT Product Development processes and standards in alignment with global Enterprise Architecture and cross-regional IT Product Development teams.
- Directs the development and management of fiscal budget for the assigned function.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 10 - 15 years’ experience in an IT environment – large company experience, preferred.
- 5 - 10 years’ in an IT leadership role, required.
- Experience in Logistics / Supply Chain or related industry required.
- General knowledge of Supply Chain IT applications and solutions highly preferred.
- Proven record of accomplishment in delivery of IT solutions within project budgets and timelines required.
- Experience in systems analysis, design, development, and implementation in application development, 3rd party application implementation, or integration projects required.
- Experience in the use of project management/planning tools and methodologies required.
