What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distillery Operator position at Diageo Americas Supply?

Job Description : WHY IS THE ROLE IMPORTANT? We believe in hiring highly trained and skilled Team Members with the ability to operate in all distillery areas, facilitating a highly flexible workforce structured to support the business needs. Activities include distillation knowledge, barrel handling and receiving of raw materials as needed to support maturing operations. We expect team members to safely perform all duties as assigned to optimally achieve production requirements. Team Members are required to rotate all areas within each department. KEY OUTPUTS: Willingness to learn all operating tasks as defined by the Training Programs. Assist with education and training of permanent and/or temporary replacements. Initiate and complete records of production and inventory Perform In-Process QA Checks Operate forklift as needed. Participate with the site safety team and SIRC program. Exhibit a positive attitude and work with co-workers in a team-based environment to achieve production goals. Support programs to prevent accidents, prevent spills, eliminate waste in production, recycle, improve production, conserve materials and supplies, improve quality, demonstrate good manufacturing practice, and uphold Diageo values, code of conduct, policies, procedures and terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Ability to clearly communicate with team members especially during high risk operations such as movement of barrels or equipment Hazardous material training and handling. Follow Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP), perform tasks per the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and Daily Sanitation Schedule, and follow general housekeeping and rules for Food Safety Regulations. This includes maintaining 5S requirements in the work areas. Perform other work as deemed as necessary by management. WE ARE LOOKING FOR: An engaged individual who is willing to work as a team in all areas of the distillation site. Candidates must exhibit a continuous improvement mind set and behavior, and must also demonstrate behaviors of professionalism, partnership and leadership. Minimum Requirements: Material handing experience. Ability to climb flights of stairs Ability to move and/or handle barrels with weight of up to 90 lbs. Willingness to work Overtime as required. Willingness to be flexible every day to meet the needs of the business. Basic computer and literacy skills Excellent communication skills. Must be at least 21 years of age.
