Job Posting for Director of Counseling Services at DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT SERVICES Inc
The Director of Counseling Services (DCS) will create and implement a robust department that includes the following: supervise and oversee all counseling services, obtaining new clients, retention of current clients, workshops, presentations, and school-based crisis intervention services. Additionally, the DCS will work with the leadership team towards a 3–5-year goal of developing and implementing a private practice model.
Duties/Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
Maintain current knowledge of theory, practice, and ethics within the counseling profession.
Develop, coordinate and facilitate a school-based crisis intervention service delivery model.
Develop and implement a service delivery model for general and special education counseling services.
Develop and implement workshops for staff, families, and community agencies.
Supervise Master's level interns (legally and ethically responsible for client caseloads as well as documentation pertaining to clients, intern training and experience).
Responsible for the collection of data; attendance of all workshop related records and statistics for counseling.
Responsible for creating an end of the quarter/annual report regarding counseling and continuously assessing possible improvements for programming.
Plan, implement, administer, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the specific programs, functions, services, and activities of Counseling, including operating policies and procedures. Develop and modify programs, services and operating systems in accordance with institutional objectives and resources, as well as student needs and within the guidelines of appropriate laws and ethical guidelines.
Supervise and oversee all counseling employees.
Work collaboratively with the Director of Speech and Related Services and the Director of Educational Assessments and Psychological Services to co-manage efficient and effective school-based services.
Creating programming for students and presentations of workshops such as relaxation skills, mindfulness, biofeedback, meditation, etc.
May require face to face or virtual counseling when department is short-handed.

Assumes additional responsibilities and performs all special projects as needed or directed by the Chief Executive Officer.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment.
Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work performed in a hybrid environment (2-3 days in office)
Required Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and/or Experience
Masters degree with emphasis in Counseling, Psychology or equivalent.
Minimum licensure: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the Supervision credential (LPC-S).
National Certified Counselor (NCC) credential or equivalent.
Training, experience and certification in supervision of interns.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Doctorate degree with emphasis in Counseling, Psychology or equivalent.
At least 3-5 years of managerial experience.
Demonstrates success in creating and promoting growth in a community or school-based counseling program.
Demonstrates training and experience in utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT, etc.)
Demonstrates effectiveness in creating and presenting workshops for a variety of audiences (clinicians, educators, parents etc.)
Demonstrates success and best practices in overseeing crisis intervention and stabilization.
