We are currently looking for a Junior Interior Designer to join our dynamic Toronto studio. As the successful candidate, you love both the design process and technical aspects of interior design and have a desire to strive for design excellence on every project through an integrative team focused approach. You are proficient in Revit and a self-starter who loves broadening and deepening your skill set.
\n- Participate in an integrated design team to achieve design concepts and space planning
- Assist in the preparation of 3D visualization, material and image boards, sketches, and presentations
- Prepare project schematic/conceptual design drawings which include required layouts, sketches and space plans required to convey design intent
- Prepare working drawing contract documents, plans, details and schedules, using Revit software
- Coordinate and assist in the preparation of required construction documents, meeting minutes, schedules and specifications, under direction
- Responsible to apply building code and construction regulation knowledge, under direction
- Attend on-site visits and meetings, field reviews, and coordinate with outside contractors and vendors, under direction
- Communicate and coordinate via verbal and written means the required design, project, and firm information to both internal and external parties as required with project consultants, contractors, and manufacturers/product representatives
- Degree or diploma in Interior Design or Interior Design Technology
- 1-3 years of experience in commercial, institutional, and workplace
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, multitask, prioritize work, adapt quickly to changing work demands, complete tasks quickly and efficiently, meet deadlines
- Revit experience required
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office
- Experience preparing construction documents and specifications
- Experience working on multiple projects, and successfully managing priorities, conflicting deadlines and various demands
- Experience in interior design phases, pre-design to construction administration
