Job Title: Landman
Summary: The primary responsibility of the Landman is to handle an assigned geographical area of Diamondback Energy’s holdings. The Landman will be responsible for supporting an asset area and will coordinate with teams and/or technical professionals to ensure the company objectives and goals are met.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to:
- Support complex land assignments
- Make recommendations regarding complex agreements, leases, and contracts
- Provide technical and strategic advice on complex land negotiations
- Review relevant legal and financial obligations
- Ensure company drill schedule expectations are met within the asset area with all company disciplines
- Partner with brokers and attorneys in title and curative matters as appropriate
- Review AFE’s for accuracy and clear title for drilling locations
- Perform due diligence tasks in acquisitions and divestitures
- Provide guidance to land support staff
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Three (3 ) years of progressive Land experience with at least two (2 ) of those being in-house
- Three (3 ) years of demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
- High-level understanding of Land and exploration and production issues
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Permian Basin landman experience
- Member of AAPL
- Aptitude to apply strategic thinking skills to identify and evaluate logically and creatively various factors that can have a current and future business impact
- Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team
- Solid attention to detail and flexibility regarding workload and priorities while also maintaining commercial awareness and a broader view of a business situation
- Solid organizational and time management skills with a proven track record of being able to problem solve and think creatively
- Self-starter requiring minimal supervision
