What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Administrator - Women's & Girl's Athletic position at Dick's Sporting Goods?
The Design Administrator plays a key role in the continued development and growth of our Vertical Brand Apparel Brands by providing support for the Design Team. The primary responsibilities of the role are to coordinate and manage information and data pertaining to Product Line Management (PLM), product attribute setup and sample management. In addition, the Design Administrator is responsible for the entire tech pack process by working closely with the Product Development teams (Design, Tech Design, Sourcing and Product Management)to ensure that all tech pack are entered timely and accurately within established timelines from concept to production.
The ideal candidate for the Design Administrator role is detail oriented, especially when it comes to data entry and processes, have strong time management skills and can deliver results for multiple tasks with limited direction.
Meeting Preparation
- Enter and update seasonal materials, color development list; maintain files and storage of Design materials, including packaging, reference samples, and other physical samples.
- Provide assistance in preparation for key such as the organization and prep of samples, reports, PowerPoint presentations and room preparation.
- Assist in detailed note taking during any design related meetings.
- Assist Designer in trend/market research. This research includes following seasonal runaway trends, style blogs/magazines, aspirational brands and online influencers relevant to product category.
- Partnering with Product Management and Design to confirm all branded collateral is accurate. Gather and secure required product information from the appropriate teams.
Data Management and Organization
- Create and review a wide variety of documents such as correspondence, presentations, tracking forms, and various confidential documents; proof, edit and transcribe appropriate documents.
- Perform related clerical and administrative activities such as responding to email, data entry into PLM, processing mail, and setting up and maintaining files; other admin duties as needed.
- Manage the lab dip request process.
- Manage entry and maintenance of all product
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure product development calendar time lines are met. This includes accurate entry of product data, communicating issues to Design, Sourcing and Business Developers that may impact the timeline, etc
Sample Management
Responsible for BOM’s and specifications; must ensure timely, accurate and complete data entry of Tech Pack Information, make updates as needed in order to ensure integrity of all product performance and that all claims have been verified.
- Associate's Degree
- <1 Year of Experience
- Experience using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD
- Familiarity with a PLM system, preferred
- Experience with updating technical sketches and tech packs in Adobe Illustrator, preferred
- Microsoft Power Point required
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, team environment.
- Demonstrated passion for apparel trend, fashion and consumer behavior
