Hike Ambassador Duties Include:
- Conducts assessment of an explorer's foot movements (i.e. arch, pronation, gait Analysis) and in turn recommends appropriate Hiking/backpacking products based on use and application.
- Translates / aligns product technology to the explorer’s needs and preferences, contributing to the explorer’s overall Hiking/backpacking experience.
- Creates a tailored consultative experience in order to provide unparalleled customer service; adapting sales style appropriately.
- Partner with store guides, within the store and surrounding areas, by regularly sharing general hiking/backpacking concepts and/or utilizing training materials to educate others on new product releases, technology, etc.
- Ensures product recommendations benefit / align with the explorer’s Hiking goals and use applications.
- Pulls from personal experiences to recommend Hiking/backpacking best practices / suggestions (i.e. warm up and cool down techniques, Hike improvement plans, Hiking form, stretches, etc.).
- Fully outfits explorers with appropriate footwear, socks, insoles, and supporting accessories from head to toe.
- Maintains merchandise presentation standards and signage of Footwear Department to Company standards as directed.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention and standard operating procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality of all Company information. Complies with all workplace safety programs.
All Guides, (our associates), are required to adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Additionally, as business needs arise, other tasks may become necessary.
- 1-3 years of Retail or Footwear experience preferred
- Ability to quickly build rapport with hikers and backpackers of all experience levels.
- Deep knowledge of various hiking brands, technology, and latest trends / launches.
- Understands the dynamics of hiking(i.e. lifespan of a shoe, impacts of various trails and terrains, etc.).
- Ability to simplify insights for new hikers, but also incorporate hiking/backpacking terminology and techniques when building credibility with seasoned hikers/backpackers.
- World-class customer service skill and interpersonal/communication skills
