Job description
SSPI Mid Atlantic LLC. is looking for a motivated and detail- oriented Quality Lead in Richmond-VA, who will create, promote, and maintain sustainable food safety and quality processes, procedures, and programs. The ideal candidate will oversee our quality assurance and safety programs.
A successful candidate will have the ability to work with a cross-functional team of managers, supervisors and production workers collaborating to identify areas of inefficiency and promote continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the quality of all outgoing finish goods as well as production procedures for food safety.
The position is also responsible for the Safety management system designed to address site-specific requirements, by designing, developing, implementing, and monitoring occupational health, industrial hygiene and workforce safety procedures, processes, and programs in alignment with policies, instructions, and standards and compliant with local, state, and federal environment health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
Assure compliance with all BRC procedure and GMP requirements.
- Responsible for regulatory compliance of food safety and quality standards, annual BRC audit and BRC Certification.
- Complete food safety and quality audits, to include but not limited to: BRC Monthly Internal Audits.
- Assure all products are manufactured in a safe, quality manner.
- Assure plant sanitation practices are conducive to food safety.
- Train and manage staff in production practices and quality assessment of goods.
- Perform quality/food quality BRC training with employees, including department specific and new hires.
- Ensures HACCP program meets regulatory and audit requirements for risk identification and mitigation, responsible for HACCP compliance within the manufacturing site.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing process of food safety practices.
- Familiar with BRC/SQF food safety programs, including HACCP. BRC/SQF Practitioner with HACCP or willing to pass required training upon hire
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Team Player with ability to multi-task with deadlines while still meeting standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of staff
- Detail-oriented.
