We are seeking a full-time Employment Support Specialist for the Employment Support Program. This position instructs, monitors, and evaluates consumers with disabilities in vocational settings. This position has a flexible work schedule.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires an active driver's license and a DMV check that is clear. Position may require travel in the communities served or state of Pennsylvania for position requirements 80% of the time.

SUMMARY

This position assists the consumer with obtaining and maintaining community based competitive employment by providing job development, on-the-job training and ongoing support services. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions

1. Models and fosters an organizational culture of respect, cooperation, and service excellence.

2. Maintains required billable rate or higher for productivity ratio standards.

3. Ensures that all program paperwork is completed accurately and turned in for processing and/or verification by the designated deadline.

4. Conducts one on one job trainings and assessments at employment sites.

5. Develops individual employment plans, teaches job development skills, recruits employers for placement, and performs evaluations of individuals.

6. Acts as an advocate for our program participants in the workplace as well as the community.

7. Is designated as a ?driver? for DCI; will be asked to drive a company vehicle or their personal vehicle in the performance of job duties.

8. Follows all DCI policies and procedures, and federal and state regulations.

9. Performs other tasks as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.

Certifications, Licenses, Etc.

  • Successful completion of ACRE or CESP certification required for job coaching within the first 180 days of employment.  This training certification then must be updated every three years in order to maintain required certification for employment specialist position.
  •  Valid driver's license
  • Proof of current vehicle insurance with coverage limits of $100,000/person, $300,000/accident

Work is sometimes performed in a climate-controlled office building.  Work is also performed in various community settings such as consumer's homes, in parks, restaurants, and other worksites.
