Research Analyst (Health and Innovation, Research and Evaluation)
This position is majority remote with the option of a 9/80 flexible work schedule. The pay range for this position is between $62,221 - $69,135 annually.

Summary
The Research Analyst will provide evaluation and research support to the Research and Evaluation Division and requires solid research and data skills, including in-depth knowledge of and experience collaborating with program staff to establish data collection process and system. The Research Analyst will also oversee data management, analysis, and reporting and facilitate program staff and agency leadership's use of data for program improvement.
Primary Duties
- Collect, analyze and interpret quantitative data related to the evaluation of the agency's program using R, SSMS, Excel, and/or SPSS.
- Responsible for data management (e.g., importing and exporting data in various applications, cleaning data and resolving data inconsistencies, restructuring and/or merging data sets, running queries on data sets, and preparing data sets for analysis).
- Coordinates with Research and Evaluation team members to design, manage and conduct evaluation projects, including development of evaluation designs, goals, objectives and instruments.
- Develop written reports, presentations and data dashboards of evaluation findings for internal and external audiences.
- Other tasks include: conducting literature reviews, qualitative data collection and analysis, and other research duties as needed.
- Initiate and maintain effective working relationships with agency staff at all levels and other evaluation stakeholders.
Position Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Sciences including Psychology or related fields with course work in Statistics and Research Methods. Master's degree may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree in the aforementioned fields with 3 years of professional experience in a similar setting and must include project management, data management, data analysis, and reporting responsibilities.
- Experience working on evaluation projects or in applied research settings in the areas of health and human services required.
- Demonstrated experience collecting, cleaning, and managing large data sets in Excel, Access and SPSS/SAS/R required. Experience with SQL queries and other database languages is preferred but not required.
- Strong quantitative analysis skills (e.g., descriptive and inferential statistics).
- Ability to distill results into a few key points and present them, in written, oral and/or graphical formats to program staff and management.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience working with and maintaining multiple database (e.g. Electronic Health Record system, REDCap, etc.) for the purposes of research/evaluation projects.
- Experience with SQL or other relational databases preferred.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, R Shiny, etc.) preferred.
- Experience with qualitative research (e.g., focus groups, interviews, qualitative analysis) preferred but not required.
- Valid CA driver license and ability to meet the requirements set forth by the Agency's insurance carrier.
