Job Title: Software Tester
Reports To: Director of Software Engineering
FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary:
The software tester will work directly under the supervision of the software development team and will develop and execute test plans for our existing code base as well as future releases.
Accountability, Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- The software tester will work directly under the supervision of the software development team and will develop and execute test plans for our existing code base as well as future releases. The candidate will work to verify bugs and document the steps required to reproduce each bug. The candidate will report the results of their testing to the software developers. The candidate will manage a host of test environments simulating various customer installation scenarios. The candidate will create a library of recordings and test data using each of our different devices. The candidate will be expected to perform load testing on the software and determine potential choke points. The candidate may be tasked with automating some or all of the test processes.
Qualification / Skills:
- Ability to understand technical software concepts and communicate technical details in a clear and concise manner
- Able to read and understand software requirement documentation
- Basic organizational skills will be expected and the candidate will need to be able to prioritize their testing efforts to meet development schedules
- Show a strong aptitude for problem solving
- Ability to troubleshoot and identify the point of failure in the software and the point of failure in the software and provide a preliminary summary of the problem
- Required to work in the Windows environment (all current versions) and should have basic working knowledge of Windows networking and security
- Work with wireless networking solutions and should have the knowledge to manage all aspects of a wireless network
- Knowledge of MS SQL Server and possess the ability to create and modify T-SQL scripts
- An ideal candidate will have a sensitivity to detail, noticing not only what is there but also what is missing
- Previous experience with software testing, quality-assurance, or software development is a plus
- Other duties as assigned
