Job Overview
The Business Analyst is involved in the analysis and management of projects encompassing the life cycle of business systems or IT systems. The Business Analyst interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their problems and needs and makes recommendations, as needed. The Business Analyst gathers, documents, and analyzes business needs and requirements, prepares project life cycle documentation, ensures the project is ready for, and passes, project life cycle gate reviews.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive identification of requirements and identify substandard systems processes through evaluation of real-time data
- Perform, evaluate, and communicate thorough quality assurance at every stage of systems development
- Determine and develop user requirements ensure maximum usability
- Assist in determining the scope of proposed projects
- Create and maintain project schedules
- Evaluate, analyze, and communicate systems requirements on a continuing basis, and maintain systems processes, including the delivery of status reports to all appropriate parties
- Author and update internal and external documentation, and formally initiate and deliver requirements and other project life cycle documentation, including gate review materials and artifacts, design documentation, user and administration manuals, configuration management plans, configuration change control board packages, security plans and documentation, among others
- Provide analyses of alternatives (e.g., COTS, hosting environments), business processes, etc. and make recommendations
- Develop and modify processes and procedures related to the projects performed on the program
- Plan, execute, and distribute reports and analyses based on BA data as required
- Meet all deadlines for monthly and quarterly reports, ad hoc reports, and local project management
- Create informative, engaging presentations for management as required
- Work collaboratively with development, operations, and security teams to identify and resolve project risks and issues.
