• Provide technical services to the customer on questions and issues relating to the database software, including all changes and upgrades. Provide a report to the COR or designated government personnel on customer questions.• Install, customize, upgrade and maintain DB2 Software on mainframe computer platforms running z/OS. Participate in planning and executing database migrations, application software upgrades/migrations.• Analyze causes of outages to provide RCA reports, give presentations to managements about RCA, and lead mitigation efforts of a team of technicians.• Install software with the IBM SMP/e environment as a lead technician.• Analyze storage patterns, database usage, and workload trends. Provide recommendations to advance Control/M optimization, direction regarding MQ Series, program optimization, and establish statistical baselines. Recommend storage optimization techniques, provide financial reviews and forecasting. Optimization includes database index restructuring, recommending Standard Operating Environment practices, application database change process, source code management, and application and software product reduction.• Provide technical direction and project management to address the following concerns; measure application resources usage and cost, develop methods to track system usage, introduce application, database and system optimization techniques, introduce SOP, and provide direction to ensure optimum storage usage and retentions. Provide solutions to enhance data transfer mythologies, ensure systems comply with security guidelines, explore solutions that enable our customers to increase mainframe utilization, and provide input to develop a mainframe COOP.• Maintain a working knowledge of departmental SOP. Ensure that all work is completed using the documented procedures, to include updating and maintaining tickets, change requests, and documentation.
IAT Level 1: Must possess one of the following required certifications.• A CE• CCNA Security• Network CE• SSCP• The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and solve complex problems.
