Job Description: Coordinator of Communications
This person will help to advance the mission and ministries of the Diocese of East Carolina by supporting staff and leaders with effective communications across the Diocese and beyond. Regular responsibilities will include preparing and distributing electronic, print, audio, and video communications; overseeing website and social media activity; and handling all media relations. Additionally, this person will provide direct support to the bishop by assisting with written and verbal communication and by ensuring effective communications between the bishop and the congregations and ministries of the diocese.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Collect, write, edit, and publish diocesan news in various formats
- Manage & update website, social media, and newsletters
- Monitor various news sources – parish, inter/intra diocesan, national denominational etc. for relevant sharing and trends
- Graphic design & content of all Diocesan printed materials
- Support those leading communications in congregations and with diocesan ministries
- Support the Bishop in verbal and written communication
- Review and procurement and/ or administration of technology & tools for diocesan staff
Education and skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational skills and multitasking – must be able to meet multiple deadlines
- College graduate – degree in marketing, journalism, or communications preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in like field and responsibilities
- Skilled with Microsoft products, email platforms, website tools, as well as social media platforms
- Graphic arts and photography skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
