Position: Teacher – Physical Education/Health - 2024 - 2025 School Year

Classification: Exempt Salaried

Reports To: Principal – Great Falls Central Catholic High School

Job Summary:

Great Falls Central Catholic High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Great Falls, Montana and is one of three Catholic high schools in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Great Falls-Billings.

Great Falls Central Catholic High School is committed to developing academic excellence in a Christ-centered community that strengthens leadership and service to others.

Great Falls Central Catholic High School is a Class C, fully state accredited, high school with a newer facility, 9 sports teams (Mustangs), a full-time principal and counselor. The school consists of small classes, an international student program, supportive parents and searching for teachers who want to educate the “whole student”.

Teachers do not have to be Catholic to work at this school but must be willing to support the mission of the school and basic Catholic doctrine.

Duties:

Plan and develop course of study according to curriculum guidelines of Diocese and state requirements.

Develop and present specific lesson plans, using a variety of techniques, including lectures, projects, exhibits, field trips, audio-visual and library resources, computers, and the Internet.

Prepare assignments and tests for in-school preparation and homework. Monitor, assist, correct, and grades student performance.

Counsel students when academic difficulties or behavioral problems arise. Maintain order in the classroom.

Keeps records of academic performance, attendance, and social acclimation. Reports on all aspects of student development for school records and parents; conducts parent-teacher conferences on both a regularly scheduled and an as-needed basis.

Consults with other professionals, where there appears to be evidence of learning disabilities, drug or alcohol abuse, or problems of social adjustment. Coordinates decisions with parents concerning any specialized intervention which appears warranted.

Reports cases of suspected child abuse according to state law.

Maintain a neat, professional appearance.

Work with guidance counselor in helping student select course of study or college.

Participates in faculty meetings, educational conferences, professional training seminars, and workshops.

Maintains a growth mindset toward student learning, teaching practice, and personal/collective professional development.

Teachers’ Retirement System is not impacted by this position.

This is a 1-1 device school. All students are issued Chromebooks, and all teachers are issued laptops to use for their classes. All classrooms have new interactive boards.

This position is a .75 FTE but could be 1.0 FTE if combined with other subject areas and/or duties.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in education or related field.

Recent teaching experience, coursework, or other activity in area of primary instruction.

Demonstrated knowledge of current instructional strategies appropriate for students at the specified grade level.

Previous experience teaching the age levels and subject areas of the specific teaching position.

Teaching credentials appropriate for the level of students being taught

Must have strong oral/written communication and presentation skills. Be outgoing and possess excellent organizational skills.
