What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal position at Diocese of Springfield Catholic Schools?
The Diocese of Springfield Catholic Schools Office is seeking dynamic, mission-driven leaders to help in the continued revitalization of our Catholic schools. With a growth mindset and a desire to open schools throughout the four counties of our diocese, we are building a candidate pool for qualified candidates for immediate and upcoming openings in our current schools as well as entrepreneurial leaders to help in opening brand new schools.
Candidates should have the ability to effectively communicate the benefits of a Catholic education with a clear understanding of the mission of our schools. They should also have experience in instructional leadership, managerial leadership, and the ability to provide a strong witness of the faith to the families, staff, and children in their communities.
The ideal candidate for this position should be:
• A practicing and committed Catholic who is community service and service minded;
• A visible mission-driven leader who can witness to the beauty of the Catholic faith;
• A strong communicator;
• A community and bridge builder maintaining strong relationships with local parishes, parent groups, teachers, families, benefactors, etc.;
• A collaborative and entrepreneurial leader who can help our schools maximize the impact of strong faculties, communities, and unique opportunities.
The ideal candidate should have or desire to acquire the following skills:
• School Board Development;
• Demonstrated willingness to work closely with the other school communities served by the Diocese of Springfield;
• Strong understanding of the business aspects of a school;
• Clear understanding of special education and enrichment;
• Clear understanding of the Catholic intellectual tradition and 21st century learning skills;
• Ability to build institutional advancement processes including marketing, enrollment management.
Five years of teaching experience, an ability to speak in Spanish, and an understanding of the tenets of a classical education would be beneficial.
