SUMMARY
Completes orders by obtaining load sheets; locating and verifying materials; stacking and securing materials on pallets; moving materials to staging area or to semi-trailers; stacking and securing materials in semi-trailers; maintaining inventory and shipping logs; proper and safe use of warehouse equipment to include pallet jacks, 2-wheelers, and forklift operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Loads semi-trucks by stacking and securing materials. Determines warehouse/shipping moving requirements by obtaining work orders. Retrieves inventory by locating and verifying materials; stacking and securing materials on pallets; moving materials to staging area or to transportation vehicle.
Checking in Freight:
- Make sure all freight is accounted for before signing, if not, note it on freight paperwork
- Knowledge of Eagle Browser and how to navigate between programs
- Use the RF gun to match product from the pack slip to the Purchase Order
- Call the vendor if there is an overage/shortage
- Check in freight in a timely manner, no more than 5 days out on receiving log
- Maintains inventory and shipping records by completing logs.
Understanding the Transfer System:
- Pull the product and have it ready to ship (boxed or palletized) before truck arrives
- Have the transfer paperwork prepared
- Assist the driver, if needed, with unloading/loading
- Safely pack fragile items (guns, food, etc.)
- Understand Request Mode, Ship Mode, and Complete Mode
Handling of Defective Merchandise:
- Understanding the difference between POS-yes defective items that are shipped back to the warehouse or POS-no defective items that are handled at the store
- POS-yes, ship those item back to the Corporate Warehouse Defective Department
- POS-no, you contact the vendor for a Return Authorization
- Customer returns that are defective, must come back to the warehouse
- Contact your manager or the defective department if you are unsure on how to handle
QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2 years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified to operate Forklifts (certification done onsite upon hire). Ability to use pallet Jacks, 2-wheelers, hand trucks. Safety training (Lifting mechanics, Hazardous material handling). Proper loading/Unloading of Semi-Trailer, including securing loads. Know Buyers/Asst. Buyers, and the Accounts Payable personnel for the appropriate team the product belongs to.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office word processing software, as well as Cisco phone systems.
