Job Title: Business Development, Mexico
Reports to: Director of Multi-Modal
Status: Salaried Exempt Plus Bonus
Job Summary
Partly responsible for building strong business relationships with customers, generating new customer revenue, managing customer accounts, and supporting the company’s overall sales objectives as a Customer Service Representative in our Cross-Border division. This includes daily conversations about freight lanes, rates, and solutions DCL has to offer.

Partly responsible for analyzing and pricing lanes across the Mexico border and within Mexico. This person should be very knowledgeable of the Mexican truckload freight market, highly motivated, urgency driven and have superior communication skills to succeed at this position. This is an individual performer role with the potential for 50% travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish and develop client relationships through in-person meetings and conferences
  • Establish pricing with new customers, including RFPs and Bids
  • Create volume commitments and opportunity costs
  • Partner with Carrier Procurement to maximize capacity for all business opportunities
  • Assist in the development of new analytics, automation, and reporting projects and the improvement of existing approaches to enhance decision making, deliver on strategic pricing priorities and increase team productivity.
  • Manage lane pricing strategy, analyze results, and generate reports showing effectiveness and measurement of pricing strategies.
  • Work closely with sales representatives and account managers to develop a comprehensive pricing solution for each customer’s supply chain needs.
  • Conduct market research and document competitive pricing intelligence for internal stakeholders.
  • Address concerns and provide solutions for both established, as well as prospective customers
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma required.
  • 2 years’ work experience in high volume customer service or equivalent position and 5 years’ International logistics experience required.
  • Builds and maintains customer satisfaction with the products and services offered by the organization.•
  • Focuses on results and desired outcomes and how best to achieve them.
  • Strong communicator in person, over the phone, and in writing.
  • Examines data to grasp issues, draw conclusions, and solve difficult or complicated challenges.
  • Builds constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.
  • A work hard-play hard mentality and highly energetic and enthusiastic.
Skills Required
  • Qualified candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills along with relationship-building, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidate must have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Must be able to work with others along with working independently. Must be detail-oriented and must meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task in completing scheduled activities along with additional activities. Ability to manage communication in a positive manner.
  • Punctuality and a good work ethic are critical.
