Direct Counsel is seeking an experienced Attorney specializing in insurance coverage, bad faith, and complex tort and business litigation to join a mid-sized law firm in Glendale, California. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant experience, although exceptional candidates with 3-4 years of experience will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload involving insurance coverage, bad faith, and other complex tort and business litigation matters.
- Develop case strategies in collaboration with partners and clients.
- Conduct depositions, attend hearings, and represent clients in court proceedings.
- Provide comprehensive coverage opinions for first-party and/or third-party claims.
- Demonstrate strong research and writing skills for legal briefs, motions, and other documents.
- Handle diverse law and motion practice in both state and federal courts.
- Provide appellate support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the California State Bar.
- 3-10 years of experience in insurance coverage, bad faith, or related litigation fields.
- Strong research and writing skills with demonstrated ability to draft coverage opinions and legal briefs.
- Experience managing a caseload and conducting depositions.
- Familiarity with state and federal court procedures.
- Appellate experience is a plus.
Additional Information: This position offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $160,000 annually, along with full HMO/medical coverage and other benefits.
