The incumbent is responsible for overall estimating, project planning, scheduling, and project accounting while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The construction project manager responsibilities span a broad spectrum, covering all the areas of project management like – Estimates, Takeoffs, Project Planning, Cost Management, Time Management, Quality Management, Contract Administration, and Safety Management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Achieve project profitability objectives, typically from new project and/or ongoing accounts
· Identify marketplace opportunities, prospect, and engage new customer/clients.
· Develop proposals and manage the contract process.
· Develop project plans and communications documents.
· Effectively communicate project expectations to team.
· Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
· Project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking of team expenses, and minimizing exposure and risk in the project
· Draft and submit budget proposals.
· Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recommendation.
· Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
· Ensure that construction activities move according to predetermined schedule.
· Charting out the project objectives and plans and setting performance requirements.
· Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
· Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
· Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.
· Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results and troubleshoot problem areas.
· Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans.
· Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
· Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
· Build, develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
· Conduct project postmortems and make recommendations to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
· Ensure project documents are complete.
· Be cognizant and enforce of safety requirements
· Travel maybe required
QUALIFICATIONS
· 7 - 10 years of experience in large scale data center deployment and project management.
· A four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Good understanding of building systems.
· Thorough knowledge of legal issues and safety standards is essential.
· Financial aptitude
· 10-hour OHSA certification
· Good client management and goodwill building ability.
· Capacity to motivate, lead and boost morale of the teams.
· Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
· Capacity to handle pressure.
· Willingness to travel across the construction sites.
