Position Summary:
The Equipment Maintenance Specialist maintains and repairs all Direct Marketing Solutions (DMS) production equipment within our Bindery and Mailing departments. They are responsible for working with the Equipment Maintenance Manager ensuring our parts inventories are current and providing parts lists as needed for purchasing.
Essential Functions:
Diagnoses and troubleshoots issues with Mailing and Bindery department equipment in coordination with the on-shift Production Supervisor and with machine operators.
Replaces parts or performs rebuilding and re-timing of primary and ancillary Mailing and Bindery equipment as needed.
Records parts consumption and inventory for accuracy and reports to the Mailing and Bindery Supervisors when supplies run low.
Reports major damage to the FFM and assists with repairs as needed.
Operates a forklift to move equipment or materials as necessary.
Reports any safety concerns to the Training & Safety Manager immediately upon discovery.
Performs scheduled maintenance on DMS production equipment and machines.
Communicates effectively with Production leaders on machine status and concerns.
Operates pallet jacks to move supplies, inventory, etc., in support of a safe work environment.
Additional Responsibilities:
Completes additional assignments and special projects from the FMM as needed.
Demonstrates behavior consistent with DMS values and the Code of Conduct.
Learns and adheres to all information technology and data security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
Learns and adheres to DMS rules and established policies for workplace health and safety.
Adheres to all other DMS policies and procedures.
Completes all required compliance training on time and in good faith.
Requirements:
At least two years' relevant experience.
Ability to perform basic mechanic skills, including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic.
Physical Demands:
This position involves frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects up to 25 lbs. in weight and occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects up to 50 lbs. in weight. Employees are on their feet for extended periods of time and moving constantly. This position also involves constant handling of direct mail product and frequent reaching outwards or above the shoulders.
