Lab Technician

We are looking for a hard-working and detail-oriented technician that will play a pivotal role in providing precise sample preparation of ores other bulk materials.

Job Description:

• Provide hands-on work with samples ranging from drill-core to ore tailings
• Fulfill customized projects from start to finish with the guidance and direction of the Lab Manager
• Learn and follow standard operating procedures – providing insight where needed
• Operate equipment related to sample prep. (jaw crusher, ring-and-puck mill, pressure filters, drying ovens)
• Provide daily maintenance checks of equipment and identify potential issues
• Properly track and label samples throughout project phases
• Use basic computer skills to navigate programs including Microsoft Excel for data entry

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and high level of honesty
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Uphold a high standard of personal and shop-wide safety
• Continue to promote a positive and cooperative work culture
• Ability to stand for long periods of time during repetitive tasks
• Ability to wear required PPE for sustained periods of time
• Ability to lift 50lbs over short distances (ex. lifting to work surfaces, transferring into machinery)
• Experience or interest in mining, minerals processing and/or reclamation preferred

Pay dependent on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
