Summary:

The disABILITY Rights, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Independent Living Specialist by educating staff, the disability community and the public regarding issues related to people with disabilities under direction of supervisor. This position takes a role in the development, implementation and enhancing of disABILITY Rights, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs to encourage and empower individuals with disabilities who are generally underrepresented in setting and maintaining goals to become independent or maintain independence in the community. disABILITY Rights, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Independent Living Specialist is responsible for working with all ages and types of people with disabilities in setting and maintaining goals to become independent or maintain independence in the community. These services include, but are not limited to: individual and systems advocacy, independent living skills training, information and referral services, transitional services, peer support to youth, their families and the community. This role does include COVID-19 pandemic services.
