Discover Recovery is the Peninsula’s leading provider of addiction care. Our services include a full continuum of care from inpatient detox to residential treatment. We are looking for a nurse that will work collaboratively with our medical director, PA Residential Techs to provide on-site direction and management of the inpatient levels of care for our patients.
Essential Functions:
Working under the direction of the Medical Director in collaboration with the Executive Director and Nurse Practitioner and implement treatment programming under the philosophy of the company.
Adheres to program and medical protocols, standards, policies, and procedures
Participates in agency quality improvement activities
Ensures program and staff compliance with regulatory standards and community standards of care (CARF, Department of Health Care Services, etc.)
Participates in interdisciplinary staff meetings to discuss, evaluate, and develop treatment plans.
Monitors medical care for all patients and provides guidance to detox staff in person and via phone calls as needed (on-call) and through daily interactions.
Responsible for compliance with medical policies and procedures regarding documentation and programming.
Monitor medical treatment related to patient needs
Assists with insurance compliance as needed
Consults with an admissions coordinator and program directors to approve intakes
Coordinates the admissions process for new patients as it relates to medical care (intakes, history and physicals, medications, etc.).
Provides support on performance measurement and outcome evaluation
Attends and/or facilitates staff in-service and other meetings when appropriate
Documents interventions and interactions with patients
Responsible for medication logging and detox protocol reviews through KIPU Electronic Medical Records system (EMR).
Maintains compliance with HIPPA regulations
Assist in training of new Residential Tech staff on job duties and responsibilities monitors job performance of staff, and reports performance issues to Executive Director. Initiates appropriate training related to any deficiencies or areas of quality improvement for Residential Tech staff.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Individual must be willing to work with a wide variety of symptoms related to substance abuse.
Must have an understanding of and sensitivity toward working with multi-cultural populations, as well as an understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity
Experience:
1 years medical experience as LVN/LPN
Prior experience in detox/rehab/psychiatric environment (recommended)
Valid Driver’s License
Valid WA State LPN License
CPR/First AID
Negative TB test results within past year
Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
