Job Duties and Responsibilities
DISH Network is seeking a Senior Product Designer to be part of our team dedicated to creating exceptional user experiences in the telecommunications and entertainment industry. As we continue to build out our 5G network and navigate the changing landscape in television, we are looking to invest in growing our consumer direct/omnichannel capabilities. This individual will be a key contributor in building and enhancing this capability.
As a Senior Product Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience of our digital products and experiences. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to understand user needs, ideate innovative solutions, and create visually appealing designs. Your focus on user-centric design, combined with your expertise in design strategy, will contribute to the overall success of our products.
As a member of the Digital Product & UX team, you will be part of a team that employs a squad-like model, leveraging agile and lean methodologies to accelerate the development of omnichannel and exceptional user experiences across our diverse portfolio of businesses.
Key partners/relationships: Business leaders (Retail Wireless, DISH TV, Sling, etc.), Product Management, Experience Design, IT, Digital Marketing, MarTech, and Operations leaders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design Strategy: Collaborate with Product Managers to align design strategies with business goals and user needs. Translate high-level goals into actionable design plans.
- Ideation and Conceptualization: Brainstorm and sketch creative design concepts that address user pain points and enhance the overall user experience. Participate in design thinking sessions to generate innovative ideas.
- User-Centric Design: Conduct user research and leverage insights from Marketing, Voice of Customer, and Customer Insights teams to inform your design decisions. Advocate for users throughout the design process.
- Visual Design: Create visually compelling designs that reflect the brand identity and resonate with the target audience. Develop graphics, icons, and visual assets that enhance user engagement.
- Design System and Guidelines: Contribute to the development and maintenance of a design system that ensures consistency and efficiency across products. Craft design guidelines that facilitate a seamless user experience.
- Prototyping and Testing: Build interactive prototypes to demonstrate design concepts and user flows. Conduct usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs based on user insights.
- Implementation Support: Collaborate with development teams to ensure the successful implementation of design solutions. Provide assets, specifications, and guidance during the development phase.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field
- 3 - 5 years of experience as a Product Designer, UI/UX Designer, or similar role
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Jira, etc.
- Expertise in design principles and technical competencies including color theory, visual design, information architecture, interactive design, responsive design, prototyping, and usability testing
- Solid understanding of design systems, usability principles, and user-centered design methodologies
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams and collaborating with Product Managers, Marketing, and Customer Insights teams
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design concepts and decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing design challenges
- Proven track record of working in an agile environment.
- Strong understanding of agile and lean methodologies, as well as design thinking principles
- Diplomatic, relationship building, and ability to influence people over whom you might not have direct authority
- Strong customer empathy, able to easily put themselves in the user's shoes
- Grit, a sense of adventure, and a willingness to learn and explore
- Strong portfolio showcasing your design skills, creative thinking, and user-centered design approach
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams
- Experience with Design Thinking and Agile Framework methodologies
