Job Summary:
About The Role & Team
As the Event Permit Manager, you will act as the primary point of contact for Event Services, Weddings and Disney Catered Events during the event planning process to prepare floor plan permits and supervise for required production company permits. You will maintain knowledge of permit requirements and be a resource for internal and external partners. You'll work directly with Event Services Managers and operational partners to determine setup needs, create floor plans in Meeting-Matrix for Resort Convention Centers and Theme Park locations, and submit to the Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID) for approval. You will also supervise permits from submission through completion, including the onsite inspection. Join this outstanding team and be an integral part of events at Disney!
This is a salaried, casual temporary role where hours will fluctuate based on business needs. You will report to the Senior Event Services Director.
What You Will Do
- Maintain awareness of Florida fire prevention / convention event guidelines at Disney owned & operated event venues
- Build floor plans for all events with 300 guests at convention resorts and park venues, or as required by Reedy Creek Improvement District
- Collaborate on event setups with Catering, Culinary, Event Services and Disney Event Group to build floor plans through Meeting-Matrix. Attend meetings with partners as needed to create floor plans.
- Submit floor plan permits through Acella to the Reedy Creek Improvement District, including all supporting documentation
- Track and supervise permit submissions through the entire process and ensure completion in a timely manner
- Be available to attend the onsite inspection when needed
- Proactively research upcoming events that require floor plan permits and connect with Event Services Managers
- Be a point of contact for outside production companies to assist with submission process as needed
- Maintain annual floor plan permits for standard room setups
Required Qualifications & Skills
- At least one year of Event Planning, Event Services, or Catering Operations experience
- Knowledge of all convention resort function space and Theme Park venues
- Excellent communication
- Attention to detail when submitting floor plans and permits
- Meticulous with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficient in using relevant software for permit tracking and documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing group needs
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
