Controller

Controller needed to join a well-respected and established organization in Saratoga Springs.

A market leading organization based in Saratoga Springs are looking to recruit a Controller on a permanent basis. The position will be to support the CEO with the management of the company accounting division, as well as providing commercial insight to the wider business.

This will be the organizations number one role in the finance team and will report directly into the CFO, however, this is not a ‘sit back and get a team to do the work position’. The ideal Controller will be a hands on, multi-faceted accountant who wants to grow with the business.

The key duties of the Controller include:

- Overseeing a team of three in the accounting team however you will be hands on with the daily, monthly and quarterly duties.

- Full production of financial statements for multiple entities on a monthly basis.

- Consolidation of group accounts on a quarterly basis for external reporting and stakeholders.

- Ownership of the general ledger including journals, prepayments and accruals.

- Completion of monthly analysis, reporting and business partnering with commercial and senior board members.

- Actively seeking ways to drive efficiency within the finance division.

- Ownership of the company balance sheet accounting including assets, reconciliations etc.

- Ownership of the company banking processes.

- Board reporting.

- Calculation and submission of sales tax return.

- Working with external accountants regarding taxation and audit processes.

- Ad hoc duties when required.

The ideal Controller will:

- Have experience within a similar role completing full month end processes.

- Have had experience within the manufacturing or distribution industries (THIS IS ESSENTIAL)

- Be a hands on individual who enjoys ‘being in the numbers’.

- Be a strong Excel and systems user.

- CPA qualification would be preferred but not essential.

- Be able to wear multiple hats across the department.

- Have strong communication skills.

- Willing to work onsite in Saratoga Springs area.

The business are an owner managed establishment who have been on a steady upward trajectory for a number of years. Through the growth, the business have ventured into new business lines. Due to the requirements of this position, the Controller would ideally be site based, however this can be negotiated.

The Controller will receive a salary of up to $175,000 per annum plus benefits which include bonus, 401K, healthcare for employee, vacation etc.
