What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller position at Distribution Warehouse?
We are a growing Distribution company with locations in Florida and New Jersey searching for a dependable Assistant Controller to join the executive financial staff of our business. The chosen candidate will provide financial analysis directly to company shareholders, as well as assist in the preparation of financial statements and other supporting roles for our accounting team. The position has a hands-on approach to developing and maintaining the accounting system and processes, ultimately preparing accurate and timely financial reports for both management and record keeping.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Complete month-end close reports
- Prepare all financial journal entries and accruals
- Prepare or review all account reconciliations.
- Prepare analysis of Sales and Expenses.
- Monthly finance presentation for shareholders
- Monitor the Payroll, A/P and A/R processes
- Daily review of Inventory transactions and general ledger postings for accuracy
- Prepare monthly SALT reporting and payments (including tangible property and annual report requirements for NJ and FL)
- Prepare and submit any informational industry survey’s
- Responsible for review and renewal of company insurance policies
- Oversee all corporate contracts and agreements
- Oversee the payroll process and tax reporting procedures
Requirements for the position are as follows:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in either public or corporate accounting administration required
- Nexus knowledge, SALT and GAAP experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- Knowledge in Corporate and Personal Tax preparation required
- Advanced knowledge in Excel developing worksheets and macros required
- Effective communication and Organizational skills required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Passing scores on CPA exams preferred
- Years of experience in public or corporate accounting higher than the minimum requirement will be preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
