Position Overview: DCI's computer science program is aligned to the AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A standards. In intro classes students learn basic coding structures, data types, and algorithms. They also learn about careers in IT, the ethics of computer usage, and the structure of the internet and networks more broadly. Later in the programs, students take those two AP courses.
Salary Range: $63,113 - $114,845 (Starting salary is determined by education and years of relevant experience)
Qualifications:
A Master's Degree in secondary education or this content area is preferred (Bachelor's Degree is required).
Previous experience teaching in this content area or doing software development work in the industry.
Ability to use multiple technology platforms to guide instruction and communicate with students and families and comfort communicating using G Suite tools, including Gmail, is preferred.
Familiarity with JavaScript, Python, and/or the Java programming language, or be willing to learn those languages on the job.

Advise students, including teaching an advisory class using our advisory curriculum, and support other aspects of the school’s instructional program.

Ability to proactively manage the classroom learning environment in accordance with the school’s discipline approach to maximize student engagement and learning.
Ability to accept and implement feedback received for real-time improvement.
Interest and desire to engage in the IB MYP, IB DP, IB CP and language immersion
Ability to do the professional development work needed to deliver instruction at a high level.
Collaborate with general and special educators, coordinators, and leadership
High degree of communication through a variety of mediums with parents and students
Embrace Chinese, Spanish, and French cultures by leading and participating in cultural activities for faculty and students
Ensure that our 1:1 Chromebooks program is implemented effectively for students by infusing technology into instruction
