About: District Partners has been engaged by a leading private equity firm to help them hire an Analyst to their team. This particular team provides strategic and financial analysis support to our portfolio companies (PortCos) to help them achieve their long-term growth objectives. The team is dedicated to creating value through data-driven decision-making assistance.
The position: The ideal candidate will be responsible for various data and valuation analytics, investment benchmarking, and ad hoc reporting for limited partners (LPs). This role will work directly with the portfolio company (PortCo) CFOs and other key stakeholders to provide actionable insights and support decision-making. The Analyst will play a crucial role with the investment team, providing data-driven analysis to enhance investment strategy and portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Valuation Analytics & Reporting: Perform valuation modeling, financial analysis, and scenario planning for potential investments and existing portfolio companies.
- Investment Benchmarking: Analyze portfolio performance metrics and compare against industry benchmarks to identify areas of opportunity and risk.
- Ad Hoc Reporting & Analysis: Prepare customized reports and analyses for limited partners, investment committees, and other stakeholders, including quarterly and annual updates.
- Data Management: Collect, analyze, and manage large data sets related to portfolio performance, market trends, and financial forecasts.
- Collaboration with PortCos: Work directly with PortCo CFOs and finance teams to provide analytical support, including financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Market Research: Conduct industry and market research to support investment decision-making and identify new opportunities.
- Automation & Efficiency: Develop tools and processes to automate data collection, analysis, and reporting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stakeholder Communication: Support communication with LPs, including preparing presentations, reports, and other materials for investor meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CFA or other relevant certifications preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in valuation, transaction advisory or assurance at a top tier public accounting or consulting firm
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and data analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
