Responsibilities:
- Supports site HR generalists and functional HR Business partner in processes, trainings and other HR tasks. Maintains HR system/record integrity and will work towards development and centralization of field based administrative process. * Support HR in region on HR activity, projects and develop centralized methods of communication, current case management and administrative process. * Proactively encourage the use of the HRSC email infrastructure / intranet (MyHR) as an initial source of data for both employees and managers to refer to. * Coordinates/Conducts New Employee Orientation processes/program. * Maintains HR systems/data bases, records and postings ensuring compliance and integrity. Administration as needed. * Ensure that all working polices are in place, up to date and reviewed on an annual basis or as legislation dictates. * This position is required to assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including knowledge of all standards, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes related to the site). * Engage others, promote, and participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement. PLANNING AND DECISION MAKING: * Uses judgment in absence of department supervision to make decisions within pre-established guidelines and policies. * Handles differing situations, problems, and deviations in work routines according to general instruction and department goals. * This position independently determines most efficient methods to accomplish specified results. * Will bring to the attention of VP/Managers anticipated issues/concerns of employees and in some situations will handle initially. * This position is required to comply with all applicable documented Company policies and procedures. * Works under supervision with specific direction provided for special job tasks and projects. * Requires use of judgment in analyzing system entry requirements and determining actions to be taken, usually involving application of procedures. * Receives work direction from HR management staff. Direction generally covers a significant block of work (several days) and may be stated in terms of general goals or objectives. IMPACT AND SCOPE: * This position is responsible to ensure that supervisor/department is informed of critical information and to maintain professional image of HR department. * Possible errors will usually be detected by incumbent or during the data verification process. If undetected, errors could result in payroll errors, accounting, purchasing, employee relations and other issues. * Additionally, data integrity and/or security issues may be jeopardized. * The incumbent handles extremely confidential information on a daily basis. Mishandling this information could result in legal action as well as adverse employee relations. * Lack of compliance with legal regulations that could result in costly lawsuits. KEY INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: * Constant interaction with employees at all levels of the Smiths organization. * Regular interaction with external clients.
