Corrosion Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for all field activities related to corrosion control and pipeline integrity.
• Coordinates with all DEC internal and external resources to implement strategic corrosion control program.
• Performs remedial actions when operational deficiencies are noted.
• Conducts various tests, measurements, and surveys to ensure efficient operation of pipeline and cathodic protection facilities.
• Collects rectifier readings.
• Monitors the condition of the pipeline through pipe-to-soil potentials, visual inspection, examination of pipe coupons, field data, etc.
• Manages inquiring phone calls related to excavation and construction and coordinates corrective actions.
• Completes special projects, other duties, and annual goals as assigned.
• The position is responsible for DEC’s Central Region Midstream assets and can be located in Glen Rose, TX, Marshall, TX, Dew, TX or Friarson, LA.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelors in a technical/ industry-related field preferred.
• NACE CP 1, preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry supporting field operations.
• Experience with Corrosion Control process and procedures.
• Experience with damage prevention and pipeline locating.
• Experience with asset data management/ work order management systems- EAM/ MAXIMO preferred.
• Experience with American Innovations, PCS product suite.
• Knowledge of applicable State and Federal Regulations pertaining to the Transportation of Natural Gas by Pipeline.
• Proficiency in the collection and interpretation of CP data.
• Excellent computer skills (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and interpret data, and to problem solve.
