General Summary:
Responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, or equipment for the business. Duties include negotiating deals with suppliers, researching possible item selections and taking inventory of current products
Essential Functions:
· Selects products and negotiates buying terms with vendors, including price margin, and delivery terms
· Ownership of all purchasing and logistics functions, processes, and outside processes
· Develop new vendors and engage existing vendors for competitive quoting
· Negotiate with vendors for goods and services as required
· Manage supplier evaluations and provide supplier scorecards periodically
· Manage automated vending systems
· Manage the approved supplier list in the supplier database
· Working within the management team to ensure al deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back ordered or missing parts
· Effectively communicating with the management team to ensure all orders are accurate
· Prepares daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly selling reports to analyze performance and make improvements
· Conducts market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities

· An understanding of purchase order software platforms
· Attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate

· Understands retail math and has strong analytical skills
Experience:
· Must have at least 5 years of experience as a buyer
· Working in a manufacturing setting
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field
· Supply Chain Management
Work Environment:
This job mainly operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Some plant interaction required.
