We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professional Team Lead . As a Direct Support Professional Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to individuals in need. This position requires a caring and patient individual who is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve.
Responsibilities:
Duties Include but not limited to:
● Coordinate Daily Activities
○ In the absence of the Site Supervisor, check in with all staff throughout the day regarding any questions or concerns. Troubleshoot problems as needed. Check with the other Site Supervisors or Program Manager if help is needed.
○ As needed, answer the office phone. Assist the caller if possible, or ensure that the Site Manager is in contact with the recipient.
● Oversee opening or closing shift responsibilities
○ Understand how to complete the daily assignment sheets. As directed by the Site Supervisor, ensure that all medication/classroom/outing/etc. assignments are complete and that all staff members are aware of the assignments and schedule for the day. Coordinate any unexpected change with your Site Supervisor, or if acting in their place, with the Program Manager.
○ As the Lead DSP, you will work an overlapping shift as your Site Supervisor. During this time, coordinate program opening/closing procedures.
- Assist individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals
- Implement care plans and ensure individual needs are met
- Monitor and document individual progress and behavior
- Assist with medication reminders and administration as needed
- Support individuals in participating in social and recreational activities
Skills:
- Experience in Dementia care, Home care, Childcare, or Senior care is preferred
- Ability to lift and assist individuals with mobility needs
- Proficiency in behavior management techniques
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring
- Familiarity with caregiving principles and practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work within established systems and protocols
